christopher stewart grew up a world away in auckland, new zealand. besides terrorizing his parents, christopher enjoyed playing cricket and eating cadbury chocolate. in his first acting role he played a shepherd in a church sponsored nativity play at the age of five. christopher was given the awesome responsibility of running onto stage and shouting, “good news!”. however, after two rehearsals in which he ran out but was too terrified to say his line, another shepherd, one with less performance anxiety, was cast to run onto stage with christopher and say the line for him.
at the age of fourteen christopher moved to seattle, washington where he attended high school and eventually studied theater at the university of washington, finally overcoming the trauma caused by that nativity play. upon graduation he did theater in seattle for several years, before packing up his 1985 toyota corolla and moving to los angeles.
since arriving, chris has worked in many commercials (bud light, verizon, southwest airlines, etc), television (guest starring on cold case and csi-ny) and independent films (including the feature “new york waiting”, that screened at both the tribecca and rome film festivals). he has also recently shot two independent features, one titled “lorton lake” that was shot in up-state new york. the other, titled “month to month” was shot in new york city. both are in post production.
